If you have decided you would like to use the Free Student First Aid (VTQ) course in your school, this page will assist you with the steps needed to get the program integrated into your school curriculum quickly and easily. Remember that at any time you can contact ProTrainings on 01206 585099 for assistance.
Free Student First Aid (VTQ) gives you the option of providing a 100% online awareness-level course or a blended course that will allow you to issue a community-level first aid certificate. If you choose to implement the hands-on programme, there may be an additional cost for CPR manikins (see Blended Program).
Choose the class and the teachers who are going to be administering the first aid course. We will provide dashboards, training and support to each of these teachers at no cost.
Register your school by contacting us. We will give dashboard access to each teacher and any other staff who need oversight. Training on using the website is available through the dashboard help.
Once supplied with login information, teachers can access their dashboard. From the dashboard, they can create classes. Class codes are automatically generated. Teachers will distribute the class code to students, who will then be tied to that individual class.
From the dashboard, teachers are able to track student completion of the online course (students can also print a completion page). Skill evaluation check sheets are also available on the dashboard and can be printed as needed (see Basic Program for assignment details).
In order to keep this program free, teachers will print the certification cards from their printer and distribute the cards to the students.
We have no specific requirements for how you send students through the course. Most schools have chosen from one of these methods:
While the 100% online course is sufficient to teach CPR and first aid as life-saving skills, adding a hands-on portion is a good way for students to apply what they have learned online. Your school can decide whether to choose a 100% online awareness-level program or the blended program for your students. While adding the blended section does add a few steps, it is still very easy to implement.
There are two ways to add a skill evaluator.
